Police Station Advice

Some people who are arrested are innocent and others in law are guilty. All of them have one thing in common. They are entitled to free and independent legal advice whilst they are at the police station. This is so whether they are at the police station as a volunteer or there under arrest.

If you are innocent do not think that you do not need a solicitor to help you. You would not be there if the police did not think you were guilty. Too many miscarriages of justice have occurred for anyone to believe that the police will get it right. By taking up your free right to have a solicitor you will dramatically increase your chances of avoiding that miscarriage of justice against you. Being in a police station is stressful enough. We can help reduce that burden. Not much in life is free but advice at the police station is. Use you right don’t lose your right.

Even if you are guilty in law it is essential that you have a solicitor to assist you at the police station to ensure that you do not make your situation any worse than it already is. When you are in a hole you stop digging. The pressure you will be feeling when at the police station may result in you not thinking clearly and could result in you making the wrong decisions. With us there to professionally and objectively assess the matter and help you we can ensure any decisions you make are the right ones. By taking up your free right to have us assist you at the police it could result in a more favourable outcome for you.

We will have someone immediately available to attend at the police station 24 hours a day 7 days a week FREE of charge to look after you, a loved one or friend. Just call 01208 75085 and get us working for you straightaway.

Be aware it is not just criminal offences that are dealt with in the Magistrates Court. In the last 15 years a number of civil Orders can now be obtained in the Magistrates Court and if you breach one of those Orders you can end up in prison. Crown Court

The Crown Court mainly deals with serious offences. However certain less serious offences can be dealt with in the Crown Court if you choose to have your case dealt with there.

In the past normally your case would have been dealt with by a Barrister not connected to the firm of solicitors you had instructed. However at Baileys Law LLP we have solicitors who have what is known as Higher Rights of Audience. This means that they are qualified to represent you in the Crown Court no matter how serious the charge you face. The advantage of this to you is early, close and regular contact with the person who will speak on your behalf in the Crown Court. Certain cases will still warrant the need for a Barrister and we also have close links with the best Barristers’ Chambers in the local area and have excellent working relationships with them. You will have a dedicated, experienced and professional team helping you throughout..
